CALAMUS ROTANG

The scientific name for rattan poles is Calamus, a genus of plants that include over 370 species. Some species of rattan include the Calamus rotang, also known as the common rattan.

Te ensure sustainable supplies, cutters are well formed to retain mother trees and only its sprouts are cut for our use.

OUR SOURCE OF RATTAN

We source our rattan from Brgy Lipuga, Municipality of Alfonso Castanieda, Nueva Vizcaya

PARTNERING WITH THE BUGKALOT TRIBE

Our source of supply is being managed by the Indigenous People (IPs) The Bugkalot Tribe.

This partnership is headed by their President, Mr. Daniel Pasigian.

HARVESTING

The rattan are harvested from the mountainous area.

STOCKING AND SHARED PROCESSING AREA

This area was initiated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for the Bugkalot Tribe’s Livelihood Program.
